Here's where I share business growth insights, tips,
and wisdom to help you propel your success.
Many times throughout our business journey, we lose clarity in the direction of our businesses. In this weeks post, I'm going to break down the symptoms of a struggling business - highlighting what the real problems are, and how to fix them!
This is the most common, most frustrating symptom of them all, and one that can be crippling emotionally and mentally, so let's nip it in the bud first!
Calling money into your business comes down to three things â
Re-write your money story. Any negativity around receiving money does not serve you anymore, so it's time to flip it. I've just learnt about the power of "Tapping" ...
My suggestion... start this year very different to every other year; especially if you feel busy or overwhelmed already.
It can be easy just to pick up where you left off in 2020 and get buried in daily tasks, overthinking or worse overwhelm stagnation. So this post is a gentle reminder to take the time you need to arm yourself for the year ahead.
This means stepping away from working âinâ your business and devoting even a small amount of time to working âonâ it.
You probably heard many times in 2020 that âweâre all in the same boatâ well Iâm here to say weâre not all in the same boat. Weâre all in the same body of water but some of us are in ships, some are in yachts, some are in canoes, some are holding onto other peopleâs boats (the employees) and some are treading water and just staying afloat. [Thanks goes out to mindset mentor Susanne Evans for this analogy].
We are all in the same body of water, but we are not all in the same boat.
Now is the perfect time to build YOUR b...
Today is officially the start of winter here in the UK and the countdown to the holidays begins!!
I absolutely love Christmas and I already have my festive cheer on â yes the Michael BublĂ© Christmas album plays loud and proud on Alexa, the decorations are ready to be hung and Iâve managed to add more lights to my ever growing collection ï
Letâs face it after the year we have just experienced, itâs the perfect time to wind down.
Even though entrepreneurship is important, inspiring and exciting, we need to step away from it sometimes to relax, reflect and refocus. And what better time to do that than the over the Christmas break.
So if you havenât already, block some time out in your diary to make the most of the holidaysâŠ
By taking a ...
Here we are at THAT time of year.
The time when those who have already created a plan for 2021 are sitting pretty, safe in the knowledge that they have it all mapped out.
And then thereâs the rest, who donât. Who might be a little overwhelmed by all this talk of planning, setting goals, smashing 2021 and so on â especially if 2020 hasnât lived up to expectations.
But with the end of year approaching, there are no more excuses. Itâs time to get down to business and start that all important planning for 2021.
Which is why Iâm going to share with you the exact system I use to plan my year - both personally and professionally in four steps.
Â
Entrepreneurship is important, inspiring and exciting, however itâs also important to step away from it sometimes and enjoy life along the way. As the saying goes, âwork is what you do, itâs not who you areâ.
After being in business for myself for over a decade I can tell you if youâre not fulfilled in you...
Welcome to the November 2020 B.G.I. newsletter. I must admit, I do love these Autumn months!
It feels like something magical happens. The air is crisper and clearer, the trees turn from pine green to an array of gold, copper, and bronze and the sense of something new and exciting happening lingers around every corner.
There is no feeling more satisfying than dusting off my boots, wrapping up in a cosy coat, hat and gloves and going on a riverbank walk into town. I love the smell of wood burner fires, the crisp air and vibrant autumnal landscape colours. Having lived in Queensland, Australia for the past 16 years this is a novelty I have not yet tired of.
Autumn feels like a fresh start, a new beginning making way for new ideas and fresh perspectives, bolstering the drive to get motivated, get productive and get things done.
This is especially true for businesses. Even during these uncertain times, according to Inc.com, productivity is at its peak during Autumn, with more task...
Whatever your internal motivation for going into business is, Iâd say that, at some level, all professional experts and advisors want to help others. We want to make a difference and assist those who are really motivated for change, motivated to find a solution to their current challenge, desire or frustration, and motivated to reach their aspirational end goal. The truth is that there are hundreds of thousands of people who are deeply motivated and ready for your expertiseâright now. You just have to find them.
So instead of trying to sell your services and solutions to just anybody, we want to identify and work with the people who are already looking for what you offer. The people who want your particular expert advice. When you do this the process becomes a whole lot smoother.
Always remember, people donât actually buy your expertise because they want your expertise. People buy because th...
With so much going on around us right now, it can be hard to focus on our businesses. It feels overwhelming, which can create second guessing and stagnation, when what we should be doing is taking action and moving forward.
But thatâs sometimes easier said than done, right? Because when weâre stuck in fight, flight or freeze mode, itâs hard to know what to focus on or what to do next.
So, I wanted to share with you the six things you must focus on now that will create that forward momentum you need in your business.
Â
1. Reset
Youâve likely been forging forward these last few months, surrounded by the new normal: juggling life, work, kids â everything! Now is the perfect time to reassess and reset what your business needs and your soul craves.
Ask yourself whatâs your no 1 goal for next 30 days. Whatâs that one thing you would love to kick off or get done? This will give you a purpose and enable you to make a plan. With a plan you get progress.
Then ask yourself what do I w...

To market your business more effectivelyâŠ
Why guess when you can go straight to the horseâs mouth!?
Yep, this post is all about getting some clarity and the best way to find out what you do well and what you could improve is simply to ask those who know, like, and trust you enough to have said yes to your offering.
Constantly seeking feedback from your customers/clients is a great way to learn how to market your business more effectively. If youâve never done this before, make it this weekâs priority task, as itâs one of the best ways to discover what YOU DO that actually differentiates you from your competition.
I canât tell you how many times Iâve worked with a business that had no idea what its competitive advantage was, what they did well, why people bought from them, how they found them until they heard it right from the mouths of happy customers.
So, if you wanna market your business more effectively, get really clear on what sets you apart, and whatâs truly important to you...
5 Tactics to Help You Identify YOUR Ideal Client
The one piece of advice I give to all my clients from the outset is âdonât try to be all things to all peopleâ. Narrow your focus and know who youâre targeting, that is who the ideal target client for your business is.
Most businesses I work with tell me that their target market is everybody. Big mistake!! (Unless you are a big consumer brand with a huge marketing budget.) For most small to medium business experts, advisors, coaches, and consultants it is extremely ineffective to advertise to everyone because no one will listen. Itâs like yelling âeveryone!â in a crowd, no one would turn around (unless they want to see whatâs going on). If youâd yell âPeter!â, the guy called Peter would turn around! Itâs exactly the same with your marketing.
In order to save money and to be more effective, you must narrow your focus and select the ideal target client for your business. (You know, that amazing client that if you had 20 more of them thi...
